Auto insurance ( also called car insurance or motor vehicle insurance) is insurance purchased for cars and trucks. The purpose is to provide protection against losses from possible traffic accidents by you or others on the road.

You can probably go into most parking lots at colleges or your local stores and see numerous dinged, scratched, dented, or just severly beat up cars. What this proves is there's a lot of bad drivers on the road. Protect yourself and get some car insurance.
But wait !! don't rush out and accept the first offer. You may end up paying more than you need to for insurance. Although gasoline prices are rising quickly, car insurance is still very affordable and something you need to have while driving.
Shop around for multiple quotes from different carriers or agents. Ask for a discount if you insure more than one car or get added to your relatives policy. If you want to have a lower premium, ask for a higher deductible when you speak with the agent.
Keep your bills paid on time as credit rating does have an effect on rates.
